How to Access Student Transportation Information in the NSTS Parent Portal

Important Update for 2025-26 School Year

Starting June 18, 2025, NSTS has updated the Parent Portal to offer a more secure, accurate, and user-friendly experience. This guide will help you understand what’s changed, what you can do in the portal, and how to get started.

Why the Change?

Enhance security – only verified contacts can view student info
✅ Streamline access – no more student ID or birthdate required
✅ Ensure real-time updates through automatic record matching


What's New?

  • You must use the email address listed in your child’s school contact information to access transportation details.
  • Students are automatically linked to your account—no need to manually enter student details.
  • Manual entry of student information is no longer available.


What You Can Do in the NSTS Parent Portal?

  • View student and transportation details
  • Opt-in or Opt-out of transportation for 2025-26
  • Indicate your child’s intention to use eligible busing


Step-by-Step: How to Set Up or Update Your Account

  1. Go to the NSTS Parent Portal CLICK HERE.

  2. Log In or Sign Up using your email address on file with your child’s school.
  3. 💡 Tip: If you are creating a new account, check your inbox (and spam/junk folder) for a verification email to complete setup.

  4. Email Matching and Student Link
  5. The system will automatically connect your account to your child(ren) if your email is in the school’s student information system (SIS).
    Example: If smith1234@email.com is listed on file for three students, all three will automatically appear in the portal account using that email.


  6. Access Updated Info
  7. Each time you log in, transportation details are refreshed and shown in real-time.


Don't See Your Child?

If a student is missing from your account: 

  • Contact your child’s school to:
       o  Confirm your email is listed under their contact information
       o  Ensure the email is spelled correctly in school records. 

Only verified contacts can view student transportation information.

⚠️Using the BusPlanner Delays App

  1. Download BusPlanner Delays app via the Apple Store or Android Store

  2. Follow on-screen instructions to step up the app; Alerts > My Child’s Bus > select school and run (ensure you add both AM and PM)

  3. Any alerts that you have subscribed to will appear on the Notification screen.
